Healthcare Event Will Spotlight Reform Debate

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) will give a speech at Wake Forest University at the Law Auditorium of Worrell Professional Center on March 19 at 4 pm. His topic: “Healthcare Reform: From Washington, and From Within the Industry.” He question and answer session will follow his talk.
Senator Burr’s talk kicks off the school’s first annual Healthcare Club event, which takes place March 19-20. The Healthcare Club is sponsoring his visit. He will be introduced by Dr. Nathan Hatch.
The event also features a case competition sponsored by Keranetics, a local healthcare firm specializing in developing and commercializing keratin-based products for use in areas of regenerative medicine and trauma use. A $5,000 top prize is on the line.
Other speakers during the event include Tony Atala of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Tim Bertram, senior vice president at Tengion.
